Different Types of Workspaces

Different Types of Workspaces

How we live our lives and how we spend money is a clear reflection of our own personal preferences and styles.  When it comes to inclination there is no right or wrong, there is no good or bad, there is only personal taste.  This rule applies to our workspaces.  Some of us prefer simple and basic setups, while others want all the fancy bells and whistles.  The only things that matter when it comes to a workspace is if you are comfortable and does the space function efficiently?

Basic and Budget Friendly

The first type of workspace worth mentioning is the simple, minimalistic, and budget friendly option.  For some people, this mean simply setting up on a kitchen or dining room table.  There is a functional solid surface for writing and holding your work tools, there is a power plug nearby for your phone charger and laptop, and there is a chair for you to sit in.  These basic tools will work but are typically not the best option.  The most common problems people have working anywhere is background noise and activities.  Working in a repurposed space often lacks privacy and other things can become distracting making it difficult to focus on work.  Additionally, a chair meant for casual sitting or dining lacks the back support and ergonomic features of an office chair.  Prolonged use will lead to discomfort and even back problems.  If you are working in a makeshift area with improper furniture an upgrade will greatly improve your comfort and likely your productivity.

Functional and Efficient

The next type of work area is also the most popular.  Having a functional and efficient workspace can be stylish, lead to improved productivity, and a happier version of yourself.  This type of office can also be set up anywhere.  A small desk with a ergonomic chair can easily be places in a guest bedroom, a basement, a living room, or any other bonus space.  It might not be idea to have work conferences in, but this type of work setting can be comfortable and effective.  All you need is a bit of space, a little privacy, and access to modern utilities.  A proper office chair will ensure you remain comfortable throughout the day and a desk, even a small one, provides you a dedicated space for work functions.  When you are sitting at it you know it is business time and you have a mental separation between work and live.

A functional and efficient office can also be done on a larger scale as well.  The goal of any commercial office is to provide a space for employees to be comfortable and be able to focus on the tasks at hand.  This can be done in an office with 3 people or an office with 300.  The key to success is to ensure each person has there space with everything they need, everyone has a proper chair to sit in, and the environment is kept in a professional way.  These large spaces can contain conference rooms, waiting and reception areas, a break room, and even many private offices.  They can be furnished in a singular style or patched together with multiple styles and furniture pieces acquired over a period of time.  Once again, all that really matters is they are functional and efficient places for people to work in.

Over The Top

The final style of offices and workspaces you can find is also one of the rarest.  The over-the-top high end everything office. This style is usually limited to high end executive offices and home offices.  The furniture is made with high end components, is typically custom made, and gives a luxury vibe as soon as anyone walks in.  Chairs are high grade leather, desks are wood veneer, light fixtures and other electronics are top brand high end models.  This is the type of office many people dream of.  Some people are willing to go to great lengths to build such spaces and do not care about how much it costs.  Some people build offices like this because they can, others do it because they are given satisfaction from having nice things.  The motivation behind the creation and design doesn’t matter, what does matter is the result.

There is no right or wrong way to work.  There is only what works for yourself and your coworkers.  This could mean spending a lot of money on nice furniture or this can be done through deal hunting and finding things that will get the job done.  No matter what type of office you have make sure it works for what you need and the details will take care of themselves.  If you find yourself feeling like you need an upgrade and do not know where to start, feel free to contact us as sales@furniturewholesalers.com.
