Unconditional Love

Unconditional love is tough to find even in the best relationships. We often get mad at our loved ones and arguments and fights are inevitable. However, for most of us, we do have a companion who will never talk back and can put a smile on our faces no matter the situation. This companion is our beloved pets. Dogs, cats, and other animals can be trouble, but they can also provide us the therapy and love we need at times without having to say a word.
Long Day
We all have bad days at work. These can be caused by rude clients, poor communication and teamwork by a coworker, or a logistical or service failure by a vendor or contractor. A lot of these things are beyond our control and can be frustrating. People and companies make promises they fail to keep and will shrink responsibility whenever possible. When these days occur we often feel inconsolable until we walk home and see the loving face of our furry companions. Animals have a way of cheering us up that is unmatched by any human. After a long day, a pet’s excitement to see us can wash away all our concerns and frustrations. The effect is magical.
A Special Bond
A great pet knows how to make us feel better. They know when to snuggle, they know when to stay close by, and they know when to go rest in a corner. They have a sixth sense that cannot be explained. The best part is every pet is different. Some sleep in our beds, some sleep-in random places, and some sleep in areas we designate for them. Some pets are noisy while others are quiet. Some our timid and others are outgoing and personable. The connection we form with our best friends is unique; furthermore, the relationship they have with each family member is different. Different in a good way though. A household pet knows what games to play with what person, they also know who will give them the most treats. They know as much about us as our close family members and they do it without the use of words. A great pet is the best person to cheer us up on a bad day and they have a way of opening our hearts that is unmatched.
Making Time
The bond with our furry companions is unique and special, it is formed over a long period of time and is one of a kind. That being said it is important we don’t allow our pets love to be one sided. In the busy world, it is hard to make time to just sit and relax, but sometimes that is exactly what we should do. For those of us who are very schedule oriented simply put it on the calendar. Watching a sports event, a movie, or a TV program can sometimes feel like a waste of time, but if we do it with our pet it can be the best part of the week. Just sitting on the couch with our companion cuddled up to us is exactly what the doctor ordered. Our furry friends love the attention, and of course the pets too. It is a great way to decompress and share some affection and love. Furthermore, this does not have to be done in solitude. We can invite our children and spouse to join us and make it a family affair. Times like this make some of the best memories for us, just think about the impact it has on the animal. Dogs and cats desire love as much as humans and sometimes just paying attention to them is enough. That being said it never hurts to bring a special treat to this downtime affair.
The Look
One of the most frustrating parts of being a pet owner is our little friends sometimes do bad things. They have bathroom incidents, they get into food, and they sometimes ruin furniture. It has happened to all of us and we get so mad and then we get the look. I know I did a bad thing and I’m sorry look. We get so mad and want to yell or punish them but they make difficult by being so cute. A lot of these accidents occur out of fear or nervousness and it is hard to stay mad. The look of innocence that a pet can give might be the best part of having them. Don’t you wish that other people would look so remorseful when they mess up? Pets always want us to be happy and they are almost always down to play. The true innocence they have is something to envy. So next time something isn’t going well or we are having an awful day turn to the family animal. Odds are a simple look from them can cheer us up and make everything a bit better.
Pets can be expensive, they can be a handful, and they can cause a lot of problems. That being said it is hard to live without them. They are a ray a light in a world full of darkness and we must remember that. They take care of us and we need to take care of them in return. They love us unconditionally and in the modern world that is something to cherish.
If you do not have a pet, it might be time to see what you are missing. It is important to remember an animal can be a lot of work and owning one is a significant commitment. Do your research and make sure you know what you are getting into. Finally, if you are ready to commit, visit a rescue shelter first. You can get a new best friend and save a life.
